Akanksha Pandey

Project Coordinator

Akanksha is an anthropologist and a qualitative researcher interested in the intersections of nature and culture. She completed her undergraduate degree from University of  Delhi and holds a Master’s degree in Development and Labour studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University.  She has worked with ASER Centre as a qualitative researcher for three years informing primary education and policy research in India. As a pandemic response,  Akanksha explored her interest in primatology and has since been associated with multiple projects on wildlife and conservation in different parts of India over the last three years. She was  a research fellow with WCS-India exploring human-mugger interactions in Goa through ethnographic documentation as part of their nature-culture fellowship before joining the Western Himalaya Vikalp Sangam network in January 2024. As part of WHVS, she helps coordinate the process and the project with Eicher Group Foundation.  Akanksha is also a poet, an enthusiastic birder and a sore loser in all kinds of games and sports.
